I'm from a place in California called Palmdale. You hardly hear about anyone wanting to go to a four university after high school or even community college. I have always been so stoked and sure that I want to go to a four year university after high school and people think I'm weird. I'm a junior by the way. Everyone is into partying, drugs, sex, and a lot more bad things. NOBODY does anything good. With the exception of few people who are great people. I only about two people who went straight to a four university. One went to UC Irvine and the other to Pepperdine University who are currently working hard in school and are planning on going to graduate school. It seems like all the teens I know just settle for a job in fast food and simple jobs like that and well never do anything more than that. Also Palmdale is a pretty small city. There is only one mall and basically everyone knows each other and knows almost everything about each other. Some of my "friends" don't even talk to me anymore because I always do my homework and do well in school. Is this normal? Is this only happening in my city? I feel like my generation is lazy! With no ambition for something. With no motivation! I know there is plenty of intelligent people out there but sometimes I just feel so alone.
